Studio Hugo Oppdal

At the very edge of the sea, farthest west in the small village of Flø with 170 inhabitants and one shop, lies the renowned art gallery Studio Hugo Opdal. In this gallery on this small island, remarkably, many of the world’s leading artists have exhibited. Among the names you will find Damien Hirst, Bjarne Melgaard and Sverre Bjertnes.

“It is an honor to exhibit in this remote place, which carries such a rich and significant art history thanks to Hugo’s commitment to art. I visited the gallery and the old gymnasium Hugo is planning to use for the exhibition. Behind the gymnasium, it turned out there was a large and heavy stone sculpture by Bård Breivik! I love Bård’s art, and when I was young I visited him at his home and talked about art in Gråbrødreveien at Ekely, so it became a sentimental experience! I also had some wild stories about Bård.” – Nix
